Yesterday I posted this pic of a very sad pearl white A6 sitting at the scrap yard.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Well today I found this mint pearl white A6 for sale just 40 miles away. Two sides of the same coin I guess
Edit: I just noticed that the ad is “over a week old” which can mean anything on Fb market place. I once found a TW200 for sale that was “over a week old” and found out it was sold a year ago. so I have to wonder if these are actually the same car.
The saga continues: not the same car!

Buy it

The new buyer can find a good parts car easily anyway.

If I needed a car and had 5 grand laying around I’d consider it. But it’s auto so that lowers my desire for it significantly.

Probably not. It’s most likely already beeen crushed

$4200. That’s hilarious.
That’s what you could spend on labor in the first 30 days.

Thats true...but it is quite cool!

Too bad. Some of those bits have to be getting scarce, and you’ll probably need some now and then.

My understanding of the old 2.8 is that it’s a good engine if it’s been maintained. I think this is before the 5 valve Stuff that caused more problems.

With Audi it’s usually the electro-mechanical stuff. Fuel pump book labor is over $2000. Timing belt. Water pump.
With the right set of receipts.... Maybe. But for that MOney they all better be notarized by Mother Teresa and four members of the Swiss Guard

Yeah. In fairness the 2.8 was pretty solid. I’ve had mixed success with the 2.7TT but a lot of guys make big power with them. For awhile.
A manual 2.8 is probably as good as. It gets.
I found myself intrigued by that Allro ad “over on the other side” with air bag delete, coilovers and a stick.

My dad had an earlier 100 version and found it to be very reliable. Granted, 23 year old cars will have problems that may end up being deal killers (example AC evaporators failing). But that is why it’s $4200, Those are neat, nice cars and worth the adventure for those who are willing to take the chance.
